Also, when you do want to use a cliff as wall, place a cornerpost sign next to the cliff you want your wall to be attached to. This way you can test if there's a gap between cliff and wall. If there is one, remove the sign and try another spot.

But yeah, better just don't use cliffs as walls.

Just wondering, do palisades make a safe connection between cliffs that can not be moved between?

you'll encounter cliffs where you can't build a Wall/Palisade straight at one cliff (ridge) side - you'll have one tile between cliff and wall
