It's honestly something I don't care about min/maxing... I just go with the flow man... also does stern order even work on your own?

Yes. How do you not know these things?

Because I have ~65 charisma and it won't give me 2 advantage per stern on aurochsen.

because when I tried it I got nothing, so I guess I'd have to wear my chief hat for that shit, I don't know these things because I don't use stern order day to day...

Well, this is why I said I have ~65 charisma and it's too low to even get one adv on either boar or aurochs, can't remember.
Your chief hat won't help you unless you get charisma like crazy and go full civi.

"How do I?" Is not a forum for insulting people. Snidely or otherwise.

Give advice politely or don't give any.

what you can do is to walk away from the one you are taming, once. walk far enough away to lose the right hand side icon of the animal, but not too far.
but when you do, do not enter a house/cave, do not cross pclaim or vclaim because that would make the taming process nil. probably not rivers either.
go back to the herd, either wait or agro one of the herds that you are not trying to tame.
(this is if none of the features around taming is changed, i havent tamed one this world yet, unfortunately.)
