as far as I'm concerned anything that requires more mental work than addition or multiplication is "real", I studied physics but not further maths or stats

Probably so you could calculate what Q an animal will be when you attack it and know it's level.
I think he just used X as an example.

It's stupid animals have fixed levels. I remember when this wasn't the case.

They don't have fixed levels.
if they are close to a village claim they will have a smaller level.
