when you load an area, you check your exp*per score to see what you see. If your score is x4 the minimum to see, 100% are visible. If it's x2 half are visible. Reloading the area allows you to check again for the item (kind of an exploit tbh).

80*80 is the score required to see 100% of every forageable in the game.

So is it a waste of time to level exploration beyond, say 100?

That depends entirely on what your PER is. If your PER*EXP = more than 6400, its a waste.

So, if your EXP is 100, you would only need 64 PER to find every single foragable there is to find.
If your EXP is 80, you would need 80 PER to find every single foragable. Etc, etc, etc.

Perception is very useful for hunting because it increases the minimum damage/shot with a ranged wep. Your exp*per score also determines your ability to see scents, and rarely raiders bother to level int*stealth so there's some utility there.

Imo, stop at 60exp for a hunter (they will get more per), 80exp for a forager.

Awesome, I'm 112 exploration and more than enough perc; and I'm OCD enough that 112 isn't a nice round number i'd like to stop at so I'll probably level exploration to 120. :?

just leave an unpaved tile near your house and someone will get butt-mad, place a ram and bash in just to pave that stupid lonely tile.

How do you reload the area?
