i still dont understand why mc+ua or just mc , istead ua + knuckles , i get that using melee weapon gives you a dmg boost and all , but still its not like it ignores armor , might be easyer to use but for me it seems like ua would be long term investment . atm i can kill all animals with my sling so not worryin about it much just lookin options on pvp play .
P.S Is steel armor a way to go or cutthroat cuirass is a good alternative ? and what besides armor is your main defence ?

If you're running UAC + MC you can use a B12. The b12 is odd in that it uses MC for damage but since you can't wear a shield you have to use UAC for defense. You can use a sword too but it's not nearly as good as the b12. The B12 does have 5% piercing.

UAC + Knuckles is perfectly playable if that's what you'd prefer to do. The benefit of MC is that its damage output is far greater than UAC. For point of comparison, even a crappy q10 Soldier sword is 400 base damage. Getting at least a q40 is not difficult and you'd be up to 800 base damage. q10 Cutthroat knuckles add 15 base damage. At q40 they're 30 base damage.

Once you've got the hardened leather for a decent quality cutthroat, it's almost always better to run that than a steel plate. Steel plate lowers your agi more and more as its quality increases while CTC increases your agi. If I'm remembering correctly they both have the same amount of damage reduction at equal quality too. Steel plate is just harder to break since it has a higher damage soak.

Armor + Helmet are your sources of damage reduction. Aside from that only your skills and maneuvers matter for defense.

Did they change this? Because AFAIK swords don't have any pierce, which combined with the base damage nerf makes them pretty much useless against armour of equal or better quality.

As for CTC vs steel plate, CTC has lower defence value at equal quality, but it can made at MUCH higher quality.

Used to be you had 0 defence weight if hit while moving, now it's 1/4 your UA.

Also swords were nerfed hard, now there is def weight while KOed, and hitting someone while moving in w6 meant a 100% attk hit, whereas it goes off of your attack bar this world. i.e. Its a lot harder to die this world.
