Hover with the mouse over the hunger bar when you eat chicken and rabbit, and keep track of the second number. The first is the fullness of the current hunger bar (starving, very hungry, hungry, full or overstuffed), the second is the total fullness. If you get different amount of fullness with rabbit meat and chicken meat, make a chest of sprucecaps because I'm going to eat them.

indeed it is the case and you are not reading what he said properly. The margins of yellow and green are smaller then red and dark red. IOW, it takes more food to fill up a full red bar than a yellow or green bar.

you guys are talking about agility when this guy is just trying to survive out in the woods alone, it is not viable to live off chickens because they barely fill your hunger bar. simple fact. rabbits fill it more, if you are too stupid to realize this after the amount of time you've been playing i can make a video to prove it and compare the size of hunger difference you gain off chickens and off rabbits.

Unless your luck is substantially poor, you can find a meadow/grasslands area with less than a half-hour of walking if you can't find any food. Furthermore, if you can find chickens, you can find an apple tree. If there are apple trees, you have food that is filling. Therefore, your bitching about not being able to survive is moot. QED.

The hunger system is fine. All people have to do is read a couple of posts to figure the game out (its in alpha, forum skills are a must)and they wont have a problem. Using the forum, me and some friends have built up a nice town in less than a week. Us, a bunch of newbs to this game, survived more than 5 minutes, found plants, built houses, killed boar and deer, and I believe its been five days now. We have boats, farms, mansions coming up once the wheat crop starts rolling in. The hunger system is fine. If we can do it, so can anyone else. I spent my first day running from bears and chasing rabbits, survived for 5-6 hours play time on my own, no farm, just forest rabbits, and that was before really reading the forum at all.

It is not and I can prove it. You should invest more time in understanding the simplest game mechances rather than going on yet another senseless rant in the forums.
I recently started playing a wilderness char to test out the new system. I never had any problems dealing with hunger. Eat some rustroot, find yourself a rabbit, pick up blueberries. After 4 days of playing now I am already at the point that I produce way to much food for me alone. So I am already grinding foods by handplowing/drinking crapwater.

Also you assumption that rabbit meat fills more hunger than chicken meat is still just wrong. You really should read the explanations of the hunger bar others were giving you, instead fo calling them retards.

Conclusion: You are doing it wrong.
