hi. i have a similiar situation where i've lost the location of my ancestors original claim. How do we declaim land? Or is that a manual function behind the scenes?

You currently cannot remotely remove claims... You must be able to get to it to declaim, or PM a dev and ask them to declaim for you.

Personally, I think claims should be simply lost when you die and you just get a straight LP refund from it (without the change slider taking its toll)... Your ancestor is dead after all, if someone takes their claim before their kids get around to finding the place, well... Tough cookies.

This is law of the land, not a legal right to a specific area after all.

when i reicarnated, i accidentally went to ring instead of to my homestead. I didnt notice the BIG mistake until I tried to TRAVEL to my hearth. It said that I didnt have one. I tried looking for my hearth... but as we all know.. this place is freakin huge. I gave p due to starvation and planted myself somewhere. NOOOWW.. I notice the claim issue

Well, thats reasonable too. Maybe have the LP refunded, and you spawn at the location the claim was (unless of course if it was claimed before you respawned)... Im just thinking of this because of things like...

A simple accident that will require dev intervention to fix will be removed.
