Note that they attack in groups, so initiating combat with one of them will initiate combat with all of them, leading to you being roflstomped.
If you can't kill them at this point, you probably won't be able to tame one before the reset.

i haven't tried to tame them so far though i killed a whole group while i locked my self in - wouldn't it be possible to lock the rest of the herd in to tame one?

Indeed it will be, you can lock all of the herd except one of them in, and tame that one, using the aggro from the whole herd to keep your initiative while you try and tame the one you have free.

Well I think I saw them say something about them making a new one, and it would be in place after the reset, it was just an example.

Oh, and I have tested it, I still have the migraine to prove it.

Edit: Yeah, that's pillboxing (I think) but you want to be nice and ready for it, otherwise you could be there a long time.
