I would very much welcome another way to heal. I've been traveling around my encampment (which i'm quite happy with btw

) and have yet to see a single sheep, or a single swamp. But i've been attacked by a few bears now, so HHP is down to 50/100. I really don't mind the bear encounters, since it adds a little bit of drama/danger, and I like the dynamic of not being allowed to get complacent. However, if there's going to be an increase in the number of bears, there really ought to be some new form of healing available. I guess it's a question of balancing how hard it is to FIND the materials to heal yourself, versus how hard it is to USE those materials to heal yourself.
The way it's built now though, even if you're willing to spend the better part of an evening working on healing yourself, you're at the mercy of some rather difficult to find resources. I'd like to be able to build a crappy yet somewhat effective bandage out of a whole mess of spindly taproots, for instance. Or use flax to make very poor linen bandages. Maybe add in a branch or woodblock as an "ingredient" for a bandage to act as a splint or brace, so you can equip it and heal very slowly over time (Kinda like wearing a cast or brace in reality, you'd need to wear it for a good week to heal). That way healing is still not free, but it's not so ridiculously hard to achieve for a new player. I'm guessing the devs could use the same code to model an equipped brace or bandage healing over time as they use for the leeches currently. Perhaps a player wearing one would be limited to a walking/crawling pace too? I don't know, just throwing out ideas now. What do y'all think?
