the first is a good option. see in the tavern "stealing from goons"

Marksmanship is useless against players that aren't afk. Get 10-20 unarmed and punch his lights out.

What about 20 armed? Or would I need unarmed as well?

If you've got a shield and axe/sword, sure. But I think unarmed is easier to use, because you don't need initiative points to hit. Melee, on the other hand, does a LOT of damage.

Or use 4 players to fence the victim in and shoot him down ^^

Just got raided again. This time another pair of thieves. I did track them down by their pretty much pasisade everything around their home so I can't get to them to kill them.

Claim your entire palisade, and a couple tiles beyond it.

Area was a bit big to fully cover and the pasisade proven useless too as they STILL broke in through the walls.
