look for rabbits, providing you have the hunting skill
walk on top of them and right click (presuming you know how)
right click them in your pack to wring there neck,
then right click again to butcher them

then build a fire and craft>cook>cook meat

or you can just spawn an alt and drop its bread for you (set a hearth secret on your heart icon and when you make a new char go to the top left guy and type it in to start where your other guy is)

Don't worry about Avu. I think he's a bit frustrated at the moment. If you are a troll, go ahead and post the questions -some noob some day might find them useful. And if you are a noob trying out an mmo for the first time.... I was once too, and boy I can tell some embarrassing anecdotes. Like not being able to figure out how to click on the ladder and get out of the character creation room! Hint to anyone as slow witted as me: Click on the rungs, not on the empty space between them.

Rats are no use, but when you have combat skills you can kill them and get a really little amount of lp. You can't eat them or use them for anything much. They are just like ferns, purely decorative.

As a beginning hunter you would want to hunt rabbits and chickens. Toads are like rats and the other animals will fight back and flatten you.
