Trim down your primary crops. Observe how much you harvest and process on average and only farm that much and maybe only slightly more.
If you want to produce more consider dividing tasks between bakers and farmers.
Pumpkins are the only crop you want a patch larger than you can harvest in a single go because you can come by and pick them at leisure for food. And they're absolutely essential if you desire to raise cows.
Use ctrl-shift scroll into chests or cupboards in a hut nearby to automatically sort out your best seeds with the least work.
