The level of the fox is also an important factor as well. A lvl X fox is obviously gong to be much more powerful than a lvl II fox. For combatting a fox, I would recommend having unarmed of 10(lvlx4). Before fighting a fox, try fighting ants to get used to the combat system a bit.
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.
