Consider using leather for clothes. While it will get consumed by animal attacks, it will also provide a bit of protection from them too.
It will take three leather for the pants and three leather for the chest armor. One bunny skin dried makes one leather when tanned.
Good gaming to you!
Thanks, but how do I tan?
You definately need to use the wiki. but for your benefit I'll try and break it down.
1: You need a 'tanning tub' buildable direct from the build menu. Into that you put a dried hide of any animal, probably cute sweet dead bunny rabbits at your (and my) level. Later you can try other animals.
2: Use a bucket to fill it 6 times with water. While holding the bucket with your mouse cursor right-click a water source then right click the tub. The picture of the tanning tub will change to a tub filled with water when you have enough. NB: Don't try and use a cup to fill the water, you need 60L of water. A bucket holds 10L while a cup holds 0.3L. You will be there forever using a cup.
3: Once the water graphic is showing find some bark. Hold it with your cursor then right click the tub. The graphic should change to a browny thing on to of the water of the tub.
4: Come back and check it after a day or so, the tubs graphic will have changed back to its normal empty. Check inside to find your nice new leather. Hopefully no one stole it.
Good luck.
