Okay. Taking deep breaths now....... Leatherworking just showed up in the available menu. As you can see from the above photo, it was not there a minute ago.

Now sitting quietly in the corner, gently rocking and sucking my thumb..waiting for the little men in white coats to come carry me off to my little rubber room.....

Thanks for all the help, everyone. :)

Odd. You didn't buy any skills between those two screenshot?

Oh, and I have to tell you that raising skills the way you do is horrible. Focus on just a couple, so you get something useful sooner. I recommend exploration, survival and marksmanship. 20 marksmanship and a q10 sling should let you hunt trapped foxes or boars (for boars you'll need to build a trap with a fence gate and then lure them in).

Thank you for the advice on skill raising. I will definitely try that. :)

From reading this, it sounds like you're looking in the wrong place, despite someone asking directly before.

The Tanning Tub isn't under the Craft > Leatherworking menu, it's in the Build menu (no submenu). Crafting is only for inventory items, and tanning tubs are liftable ground structures.

Aside from animal husbandry, hunting might be required (getting skins).
Come back two hours earlier.

It seems as though I had a glitch of some sort. If you look at the screen shots I posted above you will see that leatherworking magically reappeared in the menu and I am now able to tan leather. Thanks. :)

Actually what it looks like is that you forgot to scroll down through the skill menu. But hey, that is a complicated function i'm sure. Good luck with leather.

If you look at the two screenshots I attached you will see that the skills are in alphabetical order and that there are several additions to the "available" menu in the later attachment, so no, I didn't forget to scroll down all the way through the menu.
