Lp´s are useless for ranged.

I hunt everytime with a friend - if we are getting close to the death of the animal one of us is just waiting.... when it runs away he shoots with full power.

Yes aiming faster or butchering higher quality stuff from animals is useless for a ranged character. I agree for 100% with your statement.

Is this ironic?

No that is not irony (no sarcasm here).

Also why would I even think of disagreeing with a perfectly correct statement like "LP's are useless for ranged"? Let alone use sarcasm.

I noticed when hunting bears with Q>30 sling they run away, but when using lower Q sling they won't run.

So I'm using Q26 sling for bears.

And take a hell of a lot longer? That's crazy.

Bring a second character with you to trap them, let them run to ? and then come back, or get enough badass marksmanship to gain accuracy while shooting.

anothing possible option, maybe, haven't tried it, just speculation. Thunder until 10 IP, get close and Knock-Knock, then start teh aimingz.

Not sure how fast bear's defence rise never bothered checking, but I tried this on an X fox before and it worked okay. :|

Q26 isn't too much of a reduction of speed and may be preferable to prevent the bear from running. Bear running away isn't really a problem though since you smply just get back on land and they will come back to you and won't even attack at all.

Also the target;s defense meter has no relevance in ranged combat.
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

Being successful isn't just about hard work and succeeding, it is also about picking yourself up when you fail.

Here is my best luck with hunting things that will chase/run.

Simply go into a boat and check the shore. If you dont have success, run inland, and if you find something and it agro's on you, get into your boat. Then attack it until it runs. If its a boar, you have to chase, so put on dem nike's. If its a bear, it will run, and disengage combat by pressing the green thing next to the bear logo in the top right. You will want to note where he runs and try to keep close, however dont go to close or he will run again. Simply shoot him from somewhat of a far distance and repeat.

Really? I noticed with my attack bar maxed I 'seem' to do more damage (haven't tested enough ot actually say it's true), so I figured defence mattered as well.

A much more reliable way is to immediatly break combat by clicking the little picture at the top, if it is actually running then yours should be a sword, and it's is an olive branch. It will stop running eventually and you can run up to it and hit it again or shoot it again or whatever, just remember, if you stand around too long it will start running again, in fear, though bears rarely do this boars and foxes do this almost all the time.
