I've got many cabinets full of sausages that I can't eat because my other stats have fallen too far behind str. Seriously, it seems like everything gives some str, and the RNG always picks that stat to go up.
But if you actually want to raise str and can't do it with cheese, then your best bet is to invest some high quality wood and metal and make yourself a really good grinder. q70 piglet wursts and boar baloney will get your str up quickly enough. Maybe mix in some roast boar just for variety bonuses.

If you plan on doing anything besides fighting and smithing: Yes! Depending on what you plan to do with your char, different stats will be needed. Like perception for cooking or dexterity for making good clothes. So if in doubt try to keep your stats balanced (except for psy...) otherwise it will be hard to raise them later on.

I've found the exact opposite problem. I get tons of con, but strength is far far behind. I try to keep my stocks of boar and bear meat up, but they're just so much less plentiful than beef, even without trying.

I wish they would do a general food update and add a bunch of different stuff to try to even the stats out. I'm finding it rather difficult to find good cha and dex (aside from mussels) foods for my crafter/lawspeaker character.

for dex food, the way to go is to raise a chicken coop and breed high quality chickens. imo eggs and pancakes and whatnot are kind of a waste of time anyways. there's always pirozhiki too but it's half con half dex, so maybe not the best choice. i think that dex food being difficult to come by is intentional, same with psyche.

for cha food, you can always spam grapes. or if you're able to get milk, make raisin butter cake, or there are several cheeses that raise cha.

i don't think you'll get much money (money?) but you'll get good lp and lots of strength food if you hunt bears all day. i would imagine though that being a player who does nothing but hunt would get boring after a while, especially if you are living alone.

if you haven't made good preparations, and you kill someone from an active and organized village, there's a good chance you'll get hunted down and killed. also if you have friends who live with you, you'll be putting them in danger too. murder is not something to be taken lightly, try to think ahead before you kill.
