ok so i just discovered on of my new cabinets gone, but an older one thats out side is fine, what the hell? in addition all my silk worms disapeared

Seriously, don't build them outside.

As was said earlier in the thread they will decay if left outside. The guy was wrong in that they don't decay at a fixed time. It is random, if you are very lucky you can have a cupboard stay undecayed for many days. Or if unlucky it could be hit almost immediately. Build them inside your house and they are immune to decay hits. Therefore, don't build them outside. Keep all cupboards inside your house.

Use coffers/chests/other if you want to store stuff outside. they will still take decay but it will be slower and you will have the chance to repair them.

Don't build cupboards outside and store your valuable stuff like silkworms.
