All I did was extract everything to a folder and run it. Boom, it was working immediately.

Unfortunately, mapper clients are not very useful, that with jorb being paranoid about external mappers and everything

as far as i gathered, after the mapper gets you a bunch of 100x100 .pngs, there is no reliable way of combining them into one big picture

the client-server minimap thingie obscures the grid coordinates, see, so you either need a modified client that does more than just dump minimap pieces into user-defined directory, or you have to spend hours photoshopping them segments together manually

at least that's as far as i know

Requires python and PIL (Python Image Library).

Getting PIL for x64 is a bitch but can be done, look around for it.

friend of mine tried to make a web-based thingie for exactly the same purpose (http://madoka.volgo-balt.ru/~fox/testbox/hnhmapper/test.php)

didn't work out that good for us

for starters, you get the new set of base coordinates every time you log in or enter the building. this is a minor inconvenience that can be dealt with by specifying the initial map segment and never going inside houses/caves.

problem is, sometimes coordinates seem to change on their own, making the resulting map a total mess. IRC-Extended-Mapper client doesn't track those in-flight coordinate shifts, so unless we did something horribly wrong, you need an even more extended client to map accurately.

So, I just need very basic help, I ran the batch file, made the config folder, but now I have no idea what to do. I've figured out from trial and error that the file named Haven is the only one I can open. The window it opens doesn't connect to the server, is his just because it really can't connect or because I did something wrong

I tried those in instructions but then one of the files that the instructions there said I needed isn't in the download in this thread. Isn't the one in this thread different than the one that was linked in the other thread before the github page disappeared? I'm very sorry for sounding stupid but I want to find where I am in the world, and I can't have someone ID my region without a map.
