Ok here's my latest attempt:

Farming: 35
Treeplanter's pot: q17
soil: q42
water: q28
seed: q10

Result: q8 tree

can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? is there an ability that effects the outcome?

you should probably get a better herb table. also is the q8 tree done growing? they improve a bit as they grow up.

Most likely not. (Otherwise that's a bug)

no i think its in stage 3 atm. I didnt know they had to be full grown. will report back once they are. thanks

also, yeah my herb table is pretty crap

EDIT: The tree has finished growing and the cones are now q11. So all is normal :)
