The downloaded files must be placed into your game folder, replacing the "old" versions of files such as haven.jar, etc. Once the files have been dropped into that folder, that's it. :)

There is nothing from the game you can use to find a location. Also, you'll notice there's still a lot of empty area, and you could be there. The best you can do is search your surroundings, memorize the general land make-up, and then try to find the same on algeralith's map. If you are using Ender's, there is a "map" subfolder with a script to display the most recent area with saved map data. Sometimes looking that over can make it easier to find your location on the big world map.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

A: Nope~! Your best bet is to locate distinctive features around your area, in my opinion lakes and mountains are ideal, then scan through Alg's map until you locate yourself. The more of your area the better off you'll be. If you're using a custom client such as ender's, you also have auto mapping which will generate a map based on your minimaps automatically. You can utilize this to better find yourself on the world map.

Maybe I am having bad luck but evidence seems otherwise. I have noticed when I don't harvest all of a mature field, of whatever, at once quality will decrease. Do crops decrease when not harvested after a certain period or it it purely determined upon harvest?

This has been consistent. One day I get a higher quality from half the field and if I wait to harvest the rest the next its lower. Anyone know?
