That is not always the case.

That is not true. Clay nodes are just randomly placed all over the world like every other node too. So it might be in the middle of a mudflat just as well as at the edge or not on a mudflat at all.

I think you don't understand. With my first character I can dig one clay (not on a node) and more than one (on a node). It is totally ok.

But...

With my second character I can't dig any clay. I can physically go to muds, dig, lose my stamina and not achieve any clay into my inventory. ZERO! No clay on mudflats, no clay on shallow water. I know that there is a probability that I'm digging on used mudflat and it is empty. I've also read about artificial mudflats that don't contain any clay, never. But I was digging on huge mudflat (so it is impossible to be artificial) and in many places, for a long time (so I couldn't hit on empty mudflats forever). What about that?

Bad luck. I think you don't understand that.

As I tried to explain to you even natural mudflats often don't hold any piece of clay at all. Not even one.

Ok, until now I thought you say that 1 node is minimum on unused nodes. One more little question - when I dig on empty mudflat - it is normal to (as descibed earlier) dig, lose stamina, not achieve anything? Or should I be unable to do digging on that mudflat?

It is normal to dig then and get nothing, yes.

Does a node act like a circle? or is it a random structure like the lakes and mudflats etc.?
Hope you have a great day

There's some randomness involved, but they are believed to be at least somewhat elliptical with the high point being in the center.

Circular and can be centered just about anywhere. You can get a water node in the middle of a mountain, for example. You might be able to identify it with a well towards the outskirts but you'll be unable to tap the center. Just like if you were to pave over an entire mudflat, any existing nodes would not actually be altered and would still exist invisibly.

Ore nodes are not circular though, but I guess the quality of them is?
