2. What is the thought on using alts to for certain skills rather than 1 character for all skills? Are certain skills better for an alt than others? Like carpentry or farming?

3.When using the craft all button does the game automatically use the best ingredients or is there some other formula it uses like average ingredients? I did some experimenting with flour making and its seems its taking the averages of 2 qualities and using those, not sure.

4.Is it possible for a boat to spontaneously decay while in the middle of the water and preventing you from reaching shore?

1. Correct. The "receiving" cornerpost can be sealed or unsealed it doesn't matter.
2. Farming and mining can't be on the same character because the former requires nature beliefs and the latter requires industry. Beyond that, it's up to you if you wanna split it up more. A lot of people like to split up the combat character from the character that is capable of handling high quality items.
3. Last in first out. This means the last thing to enter your inventory is the first thing to leave it.
4. I think so, yes, but it's never happened to me. I never let my boats get that red from decay. Boat decay is a long process and the redness makes it very obvious that repairs are needed.

1. You're not going to do it by yourself. A brick wall has a soak of 75 and a ram deals 20 damage, which means you need at least 56^2 Str to break a hole (and buckets of water). Even with 4 people of equal strength, I believe they all need 150 or 200 Str each (I did the math once, not going to bother at the moment)

2. You need two crossroads for them to function. The Lawspeaker or Chieftain can take a sign from any crossroad. That can be called the "destination" xroad. When that sign is attached to a second crossroad, or "origination" xroad, you can then teleport from the origination point to the destination. If you do it right, you can leave your walls any time you want and nobody can get in. If you do it wrong, anyone can get in that can use your crossroad. Be careful. You have been warned.

3. They have to collect the scent to summon you. No scent, no summon. As long as the person holds your scent can see your hearth fire, they can summon you.

4. Practice.... Due to server latency, you want to click as little as possible. If you can, try to make them make make extra clicks. Eventually, if you don't make mistakes, you'll out run them.[/quote]
ty for ur reply, but i have some further question on crossroad,
1 does the croosroad kind of one-way teleport?or just two way?
2 where can i build crossroad? everywhere or on claim only? if only on claim, how can some raider teleport a place so far away ?

1) It only teleports to crossroads you allow it to. You can link it one way or two ways, it's up to you.
2) Only on your village claim.

How to access something, that is covered (only visible cover) by another structure (for example crop that is behind house or straw that lays behind another crop).

Another question - sometimes something lay in inaccessible place, for example chopped tree part laying under another tree. Is there any help to access that part?

//Thanks!

First question has a couple choices to deal with it. If you stand in front of the object, but behind the object blocking the view, you'll get an outline that you can click on to pick it up. Otherwise you can use Ender's client to hide the object that's blocking.

Tree logs that fall on cliffs are stuck there forever. Tree logs under another tree, you need to cut that tree down to get at it.

Find ender's client via searching "Modified by Ender" in the forum search if you don't have it.

I know about the 50 square diameter exclusion zone around cave entrances that cannon be mined out.

But
Can you build a mine hole on the surface near the caves entrance that would place it inside the exclusion zone?

Can you build a mine hole inside the caves exclusion zone to reach cave level 2?

Yes, you can do this. I don't know about the other.

dunehammer wrote:...crossroads...

Something that hasn't really been said here: it's possible to take a sign from a crossroad in one village, and put it on a crossroad in a different village, e.g. if you want to make a new village claim in your level 5 mine, you can take a sign from a crossroad there, and put it in your village on the surface. That way, when you get raided, the raiders can jump straight to your high-q metal :( So for security reasons, it's better not to do that.

(assume: stone axe= 3~40% endurance each , pickaxe only use 10~20% endurance each??)

depends on quality. If conserving stamina is your goal, there's a balance point between a stone axe and pick axe. Sorry, I don't have that ratio off hand. A pick axe uses more stamina, but mines faster.
