I wanted to know if it's possible to retrieve bones from human carcasses. I've checked the wiki, and if I'm reading it right, it says I can gather bones both from animal corpses (chickens, rabbits, etc) AND from hearthling corpses, but nothing happens when I right click the human skeletons I have found lying around.

You cannot gather bones from hearthling corpses.

I know mine holes can not be built in the 50 space zone of a cave entrance. Are their other exclusion areas? ie. Can a mine hole be built onto a claim? Can it be built onto a cave tile not just a black area? I assume water prevent one being placed.

Mined out wall tiles, built tiles, water tiles, and entrance tiles are the only things that prevent a mine shaft from being placed from my understanding.

Everyone kills people in this game. This world seems like way more Polish Horde killing people than Russians but I don't get out much.

You can't ranged attack domesticated animals at all.
