Like any other wild animal.

If you are not familiar with combat, fence whole herd using sign post and use ranged attacks to kill them.

You have to kill them via combat then butcher the corpse. You can only directly slaughter a domesticated animal without combat.

I suggest you use range combat (as it is the safest), and box yourself next to a boulder using signposts with a sling, you'll need ~20+ marksmanship to do this without hating yourself for how slow it is.

How does the formula work for items that have multiple soft caps?

For example Seer's Tealeaves, it says its softcapped by both psyche and cooking.

Is the product softcapped by one, and then the other?

Or are the two things (psyche and cooking) averaged, and then used as the softcap value?

(Product + (Psyche+cooking/2)/2) or (Product+Psyche)/2, (Product+cooking)/2

Example: Tea Leaves are ql 50

Cooking is 100, Psyche is 10.

50+10/2 = 30, cooking ignored since its above softcap.

or 50 + (100+10/2)/2

It depends from recipe to recipe, but generally it's "sqrt(Skill1*Skill2)", so sqrt(Cooking*Psy) in this situation.

sqrt(psyche*cooking)

In your example:
sqrt(10*100) = ~31

(50+31)/2 = 40 (as quality is always rounded down)

Just what it sounds like. What's the difference between a "point" and a "gold piece"? Since we don't have gold pieces (we could if we wanted, but nobody wants to screw with the complicated money in this game), you need to trade an equal value of goods for what you want to buy.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

What is "money"? Do you really think that the pieces of paper you exchange for good IRL have any intrinsic value other than what we agree on?

Its kindof the same in H&H. Each trader can put different values on different goods. To make trading easier, each trader invents their own currency system, called "points". I wish people had more interesting names for them, but meh :p. Most traders will have a Selling section, and a buying section.

(i) Add up the points value of the goods you want in the Selling section, let this be X.
(ii) Gather enough things in the Buying section such that their points value adds up to X. Then contact the trader and let him know what you want, and how you are paying.
(iii) Trade :)

Does Carpentry affect the quality of chairs?

I'd like a decent Q one at my farm.
