You are contradicting yourself in that post. First you mention how easy it is to grind back up from beeing punished and then you say the current game mechanics favour carebears (which I am not completely disagreeing with btw)?

Let me just hijack back my own thread for a few minutes and then you guys can go back to arguing with some guy who's obviously the biggest bluffer ever.

Many people have stated I'll need a much better sling and to get one from somebody. First off, I'm pretty far away from any major towns other than like.. AD and Xymop which I could easily get to by river but I'm scared to pieces by A.D. and I know nothing about Xymop other than the language barrier sowhat do you all propose I do to get a good quality sling? I'm not going to teal it since I don't even have a spare 20K lp to waste into trespassing and that's really not my style anyways. So what would be a valid means of getting a HQ sling off somebody? What would it cost me?

Any neighbour with is likely to have at least q50 fibre. What he'll ask for them is up to him, but I doubt it'll be much. Maybe a crate of chants or something.

There's a way to get a better sling without trade or theft, though. Herb q is equal to soil q, so if you find a good soil spot you can harvest nettles and taproots there and make a sling. You'll need to raise your survival to get the most of it, though. Hell, even with 10 survival and q10 herbs you'll make a better sling than your current one, q10 shoots a lot faster than q4.

Correction: A 10ql sling allows you to shoot with up to 20 MM, whereas a 4ql sling only allows up to 8 MM. If you have more MM than twice your sling's quality then it's just capped at twice sling quality. Your Marksmanship skill, along with distance and whether you or the target are moving determines how fast you aim.

Your Marksmanship is effectively capped by twice the sling's quality. So if you have a 4ql sling, the maximum MM that will take effect is 4 x2 = 8 MM.

If you're using a 4ql sling and you have 300 MM, it's still like you only have 8 MM. You can hunt with 10MM but I recommend getting at least 20 or there are better things you could spend your time on. And be sure to have at least a 10ql sling. Try to get a hq sling (200+) from someone.

I thought this only affected bows? o.O

minimun damage is affected by PER, is maximum damage affected by STR? Is STR involved in anyway in archery?
