Ok here we go.

The map now exists of 2 parts. 1 part being the surface and the 2nd being the underground where the caves and mines are.
It's pretty simple, when you create a minehole all you do is dig a hole and move to the 2nd part of the map.

Think about it:
We can build a minehole anywhere.
We can expand caves in every direction (unless we are to close to the entrance)

Why is this disapointing?,because this doesn't fix the problem we had in world 3,no it only makes it wors because now we need to claim the inside of our mines and put a support pole that costs 2 nuggets and 20 blocks every 5 Squares to not get killed.
Also mining now yields random amounts of ores and sometimes it wil cost 2 full stamina bars to get 5 ores.
Then when you mine a little to far you get 1 to 3 blocks on your head that overkills you for 100SHP and 50HHP.
What makes it even wors the only way to get rid of these blocks is to destroy them this takes 2-3 full stamina bars per block, come on!

Mining was always a hazardous job.

Should become way more dangerous! :P

Miner's canary

Canaries were once regularly used in coal mining as an early warning system.[1] Toxic gases such as carbon monoxide and methane in the mine would kill the bird before affecting the miners. Because canaries tend to sing much of the time, they provided both a visual and audible cue in this respect. The use of so called miner's canaries in British mines was phased out in 1987.

Hence, the phrase "canary in a coal mine" is frequently used to refer to a person or thing which serves as an early warning of a coming crisis. By analogy, the term climate canary is used to refer to a species that is affected by an environmental danger prior to other species, thus serving as an early warning system for the other species with regard to the danger.

Also there should be instances when the cave entrance gets blocked and the people have to build a new mineshaft to rescue the people (Chile, anyone?)

:D

Wait, so mines and caves belong to the same map now? I mean, mines are no longer an isolated room in which you can díg indefinitely, and you can actually connect them to caves? So basically building a mine hole is the same as building a cave entrance? I take it we can no longer build holes in caves?
