Lawl! It should probably check if there's still support integrity before collapsing on you, if it doesn't.

Hi, I just started mining, well started trying. Been reading alot but still have a few pressing questions.

- When mining in a cave? are ores grouped up? So without prospecting and trying our "luck" would it be better to mine alternate squares? or even 1 out of every 3 squares 1 layer into the walls? I don't dare chance a second layer for fear of cave-ins.

- Also, do ores go straight into the inventory? Or do they drop on the ground like the stones? Will a single square yield stones AND ore? eg. would I have to pick up all the stones that dropped on the ground below me for the chance that there might be an ore?

Thanks alot =)

Metal is organized into "spots" like everything else. You will find groups of ore. They can stop at any time, so you may find stone right next to ore, but once you do find ore, there will be more.

If it drops stone on the ground, it's just a cave wall. Ore will appear directly into your inventory, and the two are mutually exclusive of each other.

Do... just to confirm. If I prospect in a cave two things can happen (aside from nothing).

1) Message about ore under me? = Build minehole.

2) Pie arrow pointing towards ore. If arrow points towards cave wall... means ore in cave wall? Or does it mean if you dig into the wall you can build a mining hole somewhere in that location... :?

This has been said previously

If it gives you a message like this eg:"copper 85%" theres some on the ground which you need to make a minehole

If it shows a circle with one colour(red?) and a slice of it a much more deeper (red?) like a pie, then that means there is ore in the Wall
