I got a claimed cave near my house aswel, what skills do I need to bypass the claim and get in?

To bypass it, just need trespassing. You will however be leaving trespassing scents which although for the most part almost always get ignored, if the claim owner doesn't appreciate your trespassing, you may end up getting tracked.

I am almost certain the owner is inactive. Also I don't believe the owner is at a stage where he could kill me.

It isn't something that you should concern yourself about, there is just the odd occasion when a bored player looking for some fun will pick up trespassing scents and go on an adventure. It has happened before, but at such a low frequency that the small risk does not outweigh the benefits of the potential ore in the cave.

What would you suggest I need for mining, I have 18 or 19 str atm. Is this good enough?

If that's al you're going to do is just mine, then just pretty much strength and strength alone is what I was told. 18-19 strength is far from being sutiable for mining. I think.

The more STR the better...and STR is one of the easiest to push fast...

Get a Bearcape and Talisman to boost your STR, also wine, beer and boartusksnuffs helps boosting for a moment - you'll prolly need more at most spots - i came across only very few spots in caves where i was able to mine with 20 STR with a q 15 pickaxe (on Alts) - so just try to dig at different spots - it works or it tells you that you have not enough STR...

CON and AGI helps when mining too aswell PER*Expl...

Can I buy a pickaxe and/or a bear cape off someone? I got Q65 carrots along with wheat beetroot, tea and pumkins along that Q. I think those are my best items.
[Both the bearcape ande pickaxe obviously would be low Q scraps. ;P]
