How high should I level melee? It's at 7 or 8, and I can't kill a fox. My str will increase my health, but I can't level it until I can hunt boars. I'm in a circle here!

con increases your health. str increases how much damage you do.

Sorry to jump in like this, but I need some questions answered too :p

I've got a Militia Blade and a Wooden shield. My melee is at 5 and my marksmanship is at 7.

What would I need to kill a cow? My arrows do no damage to the Cows and nor does my sword.

I'm scared of raising it to 10 or even 20 (I have the LP to do so) because then I'd worry whether or not it still is enough to damage foxes and things like that. I mainly get attacked by foxes so I just need something to kill the bastards swiftly before they hurt me.

So, for a guy with a leather armor chest piece, leather armor boots and leather armor trousers with 55hp, what would I need in Melee to kill a fox, and what would I need in Markmanship to kill a cow?

I put those boars in the hurt with my 28 unarmed! OH YEAH!!

10 unarmed should be enough to punch level 1 and 2 foxes into submission. 20 is enough for foxes up into the five range (with some tea just in case, sidestep, and opportunity knocks if need be)

Melee will take substantially more skill to take down anything more than a sheep, and don't even think about hitting anything with your stone axe.

With archery at 15 or so you should be able to take out most creatures up to level 3 or 4 (though a 4 or 5 boar you would probably miss a lot, same with foxes).

Bone arrows, wooden bow, 6 marksmanship, killed in 2 seconds. By a fox. Again. Damn. HELP ME! Should I put my agility up? I can't touch them! And what should I put my constitution at to not get killed instantly?

Just focus the LP into one combat style. You'll probably want like 10 in marksmanship before you try.

And if you increase your constitution, you'll still need to increase your HHP(gauze or leeches), as raising STR or CON only adds to your MHP.

I still get owned with 8 marksmanship. I can 1 hit kill a cow though!

Well, inconsistently. Oh! And I ALMOST KILLED A FOX! It took like 20 seconds for him to knock me out, but I did like 50 damage on him, and it was level 6! YEEEEEEAAAAA!

I HATE THIS GAME! I always get killed by every fox I see. Every one! I can't kill them, no matter what I put con and marksmanship at!! AAAAAHHHHHHGGGG! I can't leave my house without getting killed, so I can't train to get better! Tell me all your stats, and what it takes to kill a fox. So far I have 19 con, and 10 for everything else. My marksmanship is 10, and Melee is 7. How do I not get the everyloving crap beaten out of me whenever I step out the door?
