I see that this topic has been covered more than once by the dev's so there's no point having another debate on it.
Why did one tribe raid another tribe? One city-state? Eventually the idea of tribute came around to just give a portion of what would have been taken and lives would be spared. It's a concept some didn't like (because they were bloodthirsty, even cannibalistic).
There are plenty of 'crafting-centric' games like this that don't allow the open PvP. Why aren't the people asking about forcing consensual only PvP out playing those? A Tale in the Desert is great. (It's also a monthly sub.)
Honestly, in the future, these threads just need to be locked and pointed to the appropriate discussion. I think it's a great debate on philosophy and civilization as a whole, but trying to get this changed would be like asking WoW to suddenly be a Star Wars-esque space opera.
