Thanks again.
One more thing: mulberry trees take forever to get that decay hit for the last stage of growth because they're hitbox is so small. I just start picking mulberries as soon as it produces and use those to get the next generation started. You can do the same with the rest, too, as soon as they start producing seeds.
Won't that lower the q?
No, the second from last hit doesn't increase the quality on Fir or Birch, not sure about other trees but it should be the same. The last hit just increases the quantity of it's produce (including logs).

I've done Fir in smaller spaces, should be in the Sodom W3 picture off to the Eastern edge.
Also yes they have a 7x7 area total. (You would count from the center NOT the edge, since you are counting a square area with the tree in the center)
It's one tile that the tree is on, one tile paved to any side (Cardinal directions), one tile unpaved to either side, one tile paved, then the other tree[not counted tile]) That makes a total of 1(Tree is on) + 3(Either side)x2 (Both sides)=7 tiles, repeat for North->South, 7x7 square with a tree in the center. You can use 5x5 areas overlapping for Fir/Birch, I've done it, but it's a bitch because when they are younger that 'unpaved' area between 'tree squares' is area that you can walk on until they reach a certain stage. In general the '3x3 box with lanes' OR '7x7' method is the best overall. Staggered lanes of course, as always.
