I've made my Cauldron :D

A node has a central point at which it is highest. It goes down slowly from there until it reaches the base q10. If you search the area a bit, you might find higher Q clay, or q15 might be the highest it goes.

If you dig a node to q10, it will slowly regenerate over time.

And congrats! Get a kiln up next.

Yep, going to work on a Kiln next. Thanks for the info about the clay nodes. :)

Right now I'm sitting at 10 foraging, everything else is either 2-3... What kind of stats should I be aiming for?

- I found a shitload of q16, the kiln should be fired up in no time :D:D

Get 30 exploration and 20 survival. Raise exploration 2 points per 1 point you raise survival or so. Those are the most crucial for beginners. After that aim for 20 MM so you can start hunting.

I agree with exploration and survival as great stats to start with. You can use those stats to forage for curiosities and food.

When you say "nodes around that node" you are probably talking about the same node. An acre clay or ball clay node is a circular area. Like Magicman said, the center has the highest quality. Then, there are concentric rings counting down to q10, which is the quality at the outer ring of the node. Because of this, higher quality nodes cover a larger area than lower quality nodes.

No, I was picturing a node to be like foraged things were... :( All good though, now I understand how that works and I've found a decent patch to work with for now :)

After a kiln, and maybe palisade... what would be the next goals as a beginner? Other than the stats mentioned above, those are a WIP. lol

Thanks again everyone.

Metal. Meat grinder will increase the rate of your stat growth by an order of magnitude.

Yeah Metal is what I'm really after now... All of the mines Ive found are walled off pretty hard and claimed though.

Read that I can hit walls in caves and come up with a node or two... Is that true with a stone axe? lol...

What is metal worth in the case I cant actually mine it yet?

- I've got a q11 sling, with 20 MM, and it seems like I dont even dent a foxes defense bar when I hit him... What MM should I be at?

MM goes straight through defense bar. Metal isn't overly hard to trade for if you have a village idol up to trade with the more established villages. A meat grinder you could probaly scrounge together enough shit to buy it.

Larger villages often like buying bricks in bulk. You can make them and have their alt port to your idol to pick it up (since they'll have better chests for moving bricks). I think a rough estimate is 25ish bricks for 1 bar of low Q metal? Low Q clay nodes (30 and under) can be abused. There's usually several within digging distance.

Check out the apples for oranges trade forum and have a look at the different shops that have been set up.

Pretty sure he doesn't have an idol yet. Unless I missed something.

Trading bricks for metal is still a good idea, because all you need to make bricks is time and clay. But since you don't have an idol you're limited to trading with your local neighbors. Try to make contact with some of them to purchase a few bars.

Yeah, the Idol thing seems pretty far away... Right now it's basically just me, and 2 buddies but they aren't on much/have the LP I have yet. I'm probably screwed unless I get into touch with someone from another town in regard to metal then?

Nobody touched on the Cave Walls with a stone axe. I had a buddy hit them for a while, only getting stone. Is it like clay where one of them might have a bunch and the rest you'll just get stone?

A lot of people have died near me, so it may not be completely safe to trade with them? :( lol
