A lot of it also depends on what village government structure you have as well. For example, a group of friends that knows each other well especially from other sources other than Haven and Hearth (ex. EVE or Touhou) would benefit more from a system where more things are public, particularly craft accounts.

When creating alts, you will still want LP per hours but you are also more favoring curiosities that has fairly long duration but give excellent LP when finished, such as spider forages and shew breads. Cone cows, bark boats are not good curiosities for this purpose because despite having good LP per hour, they are short lived and give a small amount of LP when finished. The other thing you want to favor is if you can produce the curiosity at least as fast as the characters consume them.

-=The law of inverse desire=- The chances of dropping what you want is the reciprocal of how much you want it.

As a casual player, my template involves 6 toons, 3 houses and a village.

2 people who go outside :

- a forager/hunter :
He lives in a log cabin with palissade, near a very big grassland.
He forage bluberrys, curios and 4 leaf clover and make cheese.
He proceed hides into leather and cook the roast meat.

- a theif :
He lives in a log cabin with palissade
He got just the minimum skills and enough str to destry a HF, dont get food or LP.
Robbed stuff just stay in his house for the time the scents vanishs.
He is ready to die.

2 peoples who stay in a farm :

- a farmer/cook :
He never go outside his little farm with palissade away from river.
He farm crops and trees
He got 2 chiken coop and a kiln and make charcoal and clay stuff.
The goal is to look like a very poor noob with nothing to steal from : no domesticated creatures allowed.

- a key keeper
He is feed in LP to become a theif and in food to become a miner, wether one dies first :)

Those 3 houses got nothing valuable in it.

My village is underground, lvl 3, each mine hole is blocked.
Here is the metal working stuff, and all the valuables.
Here lives :

- a miner/smith.

- a fighter : he does nothing but staying there and eating food and LP, mine a bit in safe place to get hunger.
Thats the one i call my "main".
