This. BMJ is talking about very advanced combat mechanics here that most never will achieve. Most people need their armor to protect themselves from outside of town snipers while doing their daily work or being out foraging, hunting, whatever. There it isn't even close, always wear a steel plate preferably together with at least soldiers helmet, gauntlets and the leather stuff.
If you are planning on raiding someone and expect some hit and run chasing style of combat like Jordan and his friends do then yes a CC comes in handy. When I am rolling with a full fledged Panda steamroller army I still would wear the steel armor. CC is for guerillas
