this may be out of topic but also kinda related since ....

im perplexed,

HOW can you kill a hearthling who is offline and has done no crimes?
can u kill by using summon gathered from other crimes and use it to any random hf?
or is it possible?

SO. the answer to this is NO! ?

so the quote i did...would be presumed he was online during the time of raid.

SO, how come this player died. I would presumed he didnt commit any crime but only purchased that tainted robe. How come then he was tracked and killed.?

Related question:

FACTS:
1. A player did a crime (say murder)
2. This same player (or character) do not have a hearth fire.

INQUIRY:
a]] How to track / trace this player?
b]] How to kill this player if he is offline? or is summoning this hearthless criminal even possible?

You don't need to track them, just use the scents to force summon them where ever you want. Generally in the cellar of your home behind your walls so that no one else will have access to the scents and you can readily loot them.

Pick scents up and right click the ground to initiate a force summon.

MANY THANKS!

more question bombardment:

1. As i have read..only when the HF is visible can you force summon a criminal .

What if.... this criminals hearthfire is located underground....say L4 (4 stories down)...how will you force summon this player..do u have actually see that HF to be able to summon and can standing on top (at ground level) be possible to summon as well?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
2. What if a player has acquired a blood tainted item (say a robe) from trade or a friend. Will this said player who is innocent of murder be force summoned or will he just be subjected to item tracking only?

TY again!....and again./....

1) You'd have to travel to L4 and get visual access to their hearthfire, even if it's locked inside of the cellar of a house.
2) Only the original thief is subject to force summoning. The items can be tracked, which can be used to find whoever has the items, but they cannot be forced summoned. Essentially, scents can only be used to summon kill whoever left the scents.

I asked this in global yesterday and noone knew, can you force summon someone in a river if they have no hf and leave scents? seems an easy way to kill someone without leaving scents since they'll just drown...also if someone drowns are they lootable or will thier body sink?

You cannot.
You also cannot loot someone who has drowned, all of their possessions are lost forever.

There was a time when you could force summon someone in the middle of a river. It didn't drown them, they just stood there like when you log back in to find your boat missing. (By the way, I once trapped a murderer by moving his boat after he logged out, then aggro'ing him when he logged back in in the middle of the river. I was then able to stone him to death.)
