If it is necessary for me to use FEP reduction food, I would probably favor raisin as it is far easier to dedicate a portion of the work production towards cheap herbalist tables and put grapes inside as well as eat peapods raw, both which are less filling than beer.

As for the bagel/doughnut, I stand corrected.

But the advantage of beer and wine are that they have no FEPs while providing FEP reduction. Yes, there are plenty of foods that have little FEPs for reduction. I will say that wine is still my bulk alcohol for TW and drinking buffs (namely INT, but sometimes for the STR) because of the pain of dealing with beer (production and needing to bottle before pouring).

Beer is easier to mass produce than wine, and you don't need to bottle it.

You're right. My bad. I'm just used to keeping my kegs in the basement instead of at the table and always forget you can draw straight from the keg (wine or beer) with a glass.

Easier to mass? I recall that you can create more beer per process than wine but I would think that you have to devote part of your crop section towards hops would reduce the amount of alcohol.

As for being easier to store. A chest can hold 90 L, a barrel can hold 100 L, an LC can hold 120 L and is as transportable as barrels are but loses out on space efficiency so they do not store as well unless you mass wagons in your storage areas. If your warp point is inside a building, a cupboard can hold 160 L.

If you need to make wagons of LC of wine buckets, you're probably doing something wrong.

You get .2l of grape juice per grape IIRC, so you need to harvest 166 tiles of crops for a full barrel. For a barrel of wort you need 100 wheat seeds and 40 hops, which translates to just 70 tiles of crops. The difference is huge.

As for storage, barrels are vastly superior to buckets because you don't have to open an inventory to get your booze, you just right click the tankard directly on the barrel. It adds up to a lot of saved time if you drink a lot of booze. There's also the fact that tankards hold .4l while glasses hold .2l, so you'll need to refill half as often.

Really, the only thing that wine has going for it is that it's less filling.

you're forgetting all the extra work and waiting with beer. wheat has to be germinated on herbalist tables, space that would be better spend on other things(like apple quality since you love your apple pies). once germinated it then has to be malted in a kiln, taking up time that could be used for making other more needed things. I prefer wine whe it comes to production...press grapes and wait, and the wait is shorter than it is with beer(I think).

Meh, you don't need top q tables for beer, old models will do. As for kiln time, it's just one branch, so unless your kiln is running 24/7 (yeah, right), it's a non-issue.
