I agree with the prospecting being really hard to understand, I don't really know how it works even though I mined quite a lot in world 6.
It also would be nice to be able to find minerals on your layer, but I do think it would make it too easy to find then.

I hate prospecting when it takes you a while to get to where it's pointing, then you finally get there and it says no minerals below ;___________;

Yes prospecting is horrible, if they just put it back to the way it was in w3 when it told you what its pointing at, then it would be fine.

Well I kinda like the change, will stop troll-botting for sure, on other hand if this was implemented, we could have like 3 types of supporters. Current one (round, which would be better square), south-north one, which would be like 15 tiles long, 3 tiles wide and same one just west-east directional.

I'm afraid his change hurts only people that don't have bots, since botting ones will just bot forrest and bring logs to where they need to, so building them will just be small action.

Perhaps a wooden support that stops cave in's 75% of the time might help? It would be a lot more newbie friendly and make it a bit easier to get to a decent source that will provide for proper supports.

I don't think anyone would really use these. At least when I mine, I don't ever want a cave-in. Ever.

or something...if you can't mine at all without a support and you need metal for supports and the only way to get metal is mining which you can't do without metal, its broken!(deliberately written that way to mess with Jorb's head the way he did with mining)

I would have them for at least starting off until I hit a proper vein, then the first thing I would do would be build better supports and knock the old ones out.

Sure, I too would have used them if I had nothing better. Though if they were implemented I would rather have it that they had a samller radius than the metal-supports, but still 100% certainty of no cave-ins.
