One strange thing happened to me aswell. I used soil with quality about 50, pot quality 30, water qual 30, seeds quality 10 and herb table qual about 70. This should yield tree quality 18. Instead I got two trees with qual 10. Only intrusion near trees was a chicken running through the wall and between the trees. The tree was a grassland type tree placed on grassland tile bordering on forest floor tiles. 5 tiles to next tree and to any obstruction. Any ideas? Bad luck?

I've planted 16 fir trees using 20ql pot, 25ql soil, 25ql water, 10ql table and 10ql seeds. According to wiki I should have trees from 13ql to 20ql, but I have 8ql-15ql.

Later I've planted 4 mulberry trees using 20ql pot, 40ql soil, 40ql water, 20ql table and 10ql seeds. They are now on phase 3 so I should have from 18*60%=10,8 to 25*60%=15. But I have two trees 7ql, one tree 9ql and one tree 11ql. I think the formula posted on wiki is wrong.

Could have changed. It's been done before. It was accurate in W6. Don't forget there's a random factor in there, too, and quality keeps going up as trees mature.

Karaluch, what's your farming?
The way I read MvGulick's discussion points in the wiki, the soil and water is getting softcapped if your farming < 40.

Farming caps the end of the formula, never the inbetween parts. So his farming would have to be 1 to cap it down to the values he's giving. The formula I'm crunching out is actually giving 20 +5/-2 and he's getting almost half that.

Also, albeit a dumb question, what stage are you measuring them at? The fourth stage? edit: Oh ok I misread a bit, I have no clue what the actual % of end quality you get at stage three, just wait for stage 4 and see what we get.

I've got 35 farming.

Fir are at fifth and sixth stage. As far as I know trees have the same quality at those stages.

I'll post their quality when they grow up.

How are you calculating the herb table quality?

I'm using wiki formula. Fibres were 20ql and 21ql so rounded down gives 20ql for average fibre. All planks were 27ql and all wood blocks were 13ql. (2*20+13+27)/4=20

I always throw something of a known value on new tables (such at tobacco or hemp buds) to test as my calculations have sometimes come out off by a couple of points. If you're table is q20, then a q22 tobacco leaf should come out as q21

Now they're on stage 4. Two have 10 ql, one have 12ql and one have 15ql.
