Thanks borka, brilliant timing too - :)

I have something to add in regard to this:

So perhaps that section "B" doesn't have any ore and is just rock, so that actually triggers the mining restriction?

I had ore right up to the minable tiles - 51st tiles - from entrance but couldn't mine into the 50/49 etc tiles - it's easier to explain with a screenshot, i'll come back and edit ............................give me 5 minutes.

Point being, mining restrictions can't be triggered by lack of ore, I still couldn't mine into entrance tiles like Tonky has done when there was ore.

(Lol, i'm confusing myself - does that make sense?)

Edit:

Just read your update borka - so it's width that is different - i've only tested one side, to the left of cave entrance on mine it is still the 51st tile that becomes mineable. Circled in blue on tile and on mini-map. Have yet to mine further in, towards entrance - building support now.

it seems to be a 100x50 area with cave entrance in center unminable - independent if ore or not...

Seashells meh ...

Update: Amanda44 i don't think it's a problem of cave entrance unminable tiles area ...

Ninja'd again.

So, 100x50 - does that mean 50 all round, with entrance in the middle?
Numbers are not one of my strong points, :P

No, not close enough, must be corrupted tiles as you said.

I'm no-where near where the other corruption happened though, so totaly seperate incident - thats directed at Seizure really. :)

Also the other corruption happend overground - different layer (your neighbour doesn't get a cave in because you chop a tree above his head ;) ) and stored somewhere else on server (other harddisk sectors if it would have been caused by HDD defects))

Did you try walking into those tiles perhaps? Sometimes you mine the tile out already and it doesn't refresh so when you walk onto it it disapears. I know this probably isn't the case with so many tiles, but worth a shot :)

Thanks for the suggestion ramones, but it's not the answer. You can't walk on them and they have been that way for three days now. The char doesn't even perform the mining action on them, as borka syas, you just can't interact with the tiles in any way. :)

(Day off today, haha, so after i've been shopping i'm going to continue to mine around them.)

okay, so originally what you all believed was that it should be 101*101 square around the cave entrance that you cannot mine (like vclaim around the idol), correct?

with that said, and with the "width" being a bit different than original idea now (thanks to borka), i still dont understand why i cannot mine B part.

Just a quick addition to the 50 tile rule. It does not always apply. Last world I encountered a cave that was blocked if you went inside the cave entrance. The black stone covered any way in yet you could see a tunnel further in. Someone later on mined from that direction to the cave entrance. So the rules for when its mineable may have exceptions.
