and maybe fishing should be a free skill. added benefit: doesn't require trees or making useless baskets/campfires to gain your first 200 LP

well the rod should be fully equipped, loftar just screwed up and was too lazy to fix this simple issue although he knew of it couple of hours after the implementation of the new fishing system.... sorry loftar, but correct me if im wrong ;)

a quick helpfull thing would be to put written parchment into every new characters inventory (starting items) that has some helpfull tips.

problem is you cant write a lot on one parchment and currently not even loftar can change that as he said (seems to be complicated...).

Just "Right click on runestones to get information as you explore" might go a long way to helping newbies.

I wish I knew runestones where more than just decoration when I started. To be fair though I didn't even realise you could right click on things as well as left click for ages. (yes it's obvious in retrospect)

I feel exactly like the OP. However, what's worse, I also accidentally dropped my initial 'dream' item, so there's no way for me to build a heart fire now. How do I restart the game with a new character?

Would it be a good idea to make the newbie spawn point on a neutral, non-ownable piece of land, with some respawning trees and rocks?

Not having a hearth fire isn't the end of the world. I managed for quite a while without mine. If you want to restart, I think you can just boot up the client, login, and you'll be able to create a new character. It's the button on the bottom right. You can't reuse your old name though.

If you come to the Swampcrazed area, I can offer you some dreams. PM me if you want, we'll see about a time.
