I read that as "poor implementation that requires manual maintenance". This is precisely the kind of policing I do not want to have to do, because it is always arbitrary and yucky.

Anyone who uses walls to block other people, will be easily tracked by game masters, and then they can ban his account or apply some other kind of punishment of their choice.

Back in the old days, in Ultima Online there was a rule, that blocking any world passage (like town gates, cave exits, mountain passes, bridges, doors etc.) is considered a griefing, and is a bannable offense. Such kind of griefing was very rare because everyone knew, that if they do so - they will be quickly found and punished by Game Masters.

this is dumb why you people want to waste precious developer time on this garbage ill never understand. yet it keeps being suggested...

Did I mention developers here? ;)

How about limiting the "seal" and "unseal" actions to claim owners/village members? No vandals, legitimate owners only. That avoids any mucking about with keys, which is both cumbersome and unrealistic.

that would mean having to extend your claim over all of your walls, which takes alot of skill points

Make smaller walls. Huge walls may look like a good idea now, but when you start repairing them you'll see just how wrong that is.
