Regarding quality and item properties

I assum(ed) bread does because all I've eaten on my farming char lately is bread, just to keep his hunger full since I don't really have a specific stat I'm looking for currently, and his highest stat is 47, but his current requirement is only 33.4. The only other possibility is that tobacco lowers it, since I've smoked TW away, but I've not used alcohol. I didn't consider tobacco would though as while it does lower TW like beer and wine, it gives no hunger at all.

I know this will sound like a realy dumb question.... but...
what is the point of increasing farming amd improving the quality of the crops, if best gains from food can be achieved with low quality crops? I'm lost...

Idea is to have high quality food giving the FEP you want, while eating fillers with low to none FEP of any type to reduce the size of the bar.
