Yeah, but he never got a chance to become particularly good at anything. I'm not sure if that's better than the generic ancestors you start with, though? I don't quite understand the system.

I've come pretty close (boars plus leeches are the worst, though I've yet to meet a Russian), but I haven't actually ever died, so I can't comment beyond what's on the wiki. Apparently, the skills of your ancestor affect the potency of the particular prayers involving those skills. So I guess he wouldn't be a spectacular guy to have watching over you, but it's something.

Thanks. At least some good came out of the whole debacle. A kind soul PM'd me, offering me to team up with him and his friends who are aiming to build a village. It's good to be around somebody who isn't out to kill or rob me. :)

Villages are fun and may go well, still, watch your back, as about 40% of the villages get a psycho killer or spy sooner or later ;)

Myeah, the 40 was just grasped out of thin air but it happens.

Is that typically the case for dead villages? I think I've traveled through nearly double-digits worth of supergrids, and I've seen a surprising amount of apparently-abandoned villages, big and small. I think I found only one inhabited village (that was full of paranoid jerks) besides the one I settled in. Always wondered what kind of things could bring all them villages to their knees.
