Thanks for any help!

Put it on shallow water and it will work. And it's a boat after all.

Or maybe try digging up some of the old information. It really has been done to death. It's a static mechanic that hasn't seen a change in over a year.

What do most people who attack people for fun(or other reasons) mostly look out for when selecting their target? Would they go after guys in Bear Capes, or straw hats? Or in simpler terms: Noobs or more experienced then a noob?

MOs vary between individuals. Wear bronze armor and a bronze helmet and you should be fine. If you can, get steel gear or better too. It's a big deterrent when the guy you're plotting on killing can stop an R-bow shot.

If someone were to pick up an object lying on a village* claim, but doesn't have the right black skill, would the game still warn the player that they can't take the object?

*They don't belong to that village.

If the village has sufficient authority then they shouldn't be able to pick items up or interact with them without using the appropriate black skill.

What is considered the best crop to use for filling troughs?

Beetroot grow fast, and produce 3 beetroot and 3 leaves, and because of the rate at which they grow the quality of them can be rather high.

Pumpkins, easier and faster to fill troughs with, but they grow much slower than beetroot and thus getting them to high quality takes time so are maybe the best choice for someone who isn't interested in more labour ?

Have I answered my own question? there isn't a better crop I'm for whatever reason not aware of?

Beetroot - perfect. Less than 1 day, 6 pieces of food from one cell of field, quick quality up. No more such effective plants.

I've noticed a load of lag when playing HnH that seems to effect everyone pretty much at the same time. Like when walking you have to click around constantly to get out of the endless loop of lag. Is there a port for which the server contacts the client on that i can forward in my router so as to (Hopefully) reduce this effect? or is this something we will all have to be plagued with? When i am walking or boating and i Lag, nine times out of ten the guy that i'm behind or in front of when travelling together gets hit with the same lag wave. I would love for the lag to not freeze me to the point of making me an easy target for gankers out on the water. :(

So if there is a port, i'd really appreciate to give it a shot and see if that helps. If its a server thing than i guess it can't be helped though.

Thanks for reading.

pardon me, i'm extremely untidy.
i was thinking that someone could make a thread about mining that could be stickied.
since i can't make such a thread, i thought i would just do some of the work for such a thread.
i have shitty wording so go ahead and fix and remove anything to make this all more legible.
Add whatever useful links i didn't add as well.
Also, I wanted to start giving proper sources so the people who spend time discovering such things receive the qualified credit so saying something like "I discovered that...blah blah blah" (in a less stupid sounding way) or including a quote or link of jorb or loftar confirming such facts would be ideal.

Here are my mining notes.
recommeded: create an alt just for mining, full tradition
diagonally ? almost as safe as snaking
the place you build your minehole might have the underground claimed
leave room within the area of a support to snake safely
multiple snakes are "safe" but don't connect them.
3 snakes per direction for a single support?
it's safe to start snaking from a natural cave tile?
from a natural cave tile it's safe to mine in 1 tile.
attempt to mine with the most amount of unmined tiles behind you as possible
observed a single unmined tile isn't enough to support a cave-in
turning while snaking probably has a higher chance to cause cave-ins
snaking is quite safe but not completely
cave-ins deal damage directly to hhp and always knock the player out
get a mining helmet, helps with cave-ins somehow
a miner could be lucky and not be hit with a cave-in rock
more cave-in rocks = more chance of cave-in
removing cave-in rocks ? chance of cave-in?
cave-in depends on unsupported? mined/unmined tiles behind the miner
