The best thing you as a hermit can provide is usually big hunt (bears), and foragables (flotsam, pearls, bluebells, edelweiß). You are essentially trading the time it takes to do a simple task (hunt/forage) they could do themselves (a service), for something they have but you need (a product).

That's probably your best route to go, if not, take a look at some of the trade threads and see what they're after.

Have as many crops covered in the bee hive radius as possible minimum coverage overlaps from other hives. Fast growing crops such as carrots are ideal for primarily producing wax.

Candleberry is not so effective as they are fairly rare on swamps and you need 5 of them.

So, would it be a good idea if I made a separate crop field that includes primarily carrots inside the hive radius in order to get moderately quick results on wax?

It's not entirely mandatory to do so but it is a good method for obtaining fast wax, assuming you are able to stand constantly harvesting the area for the sole purpose of wax production. Just make sure you know that a hive can only hold 2 waxes (and 1 L honey) maximum so you are going to be checking on it somewhat frequently so that you do not waste any.

I thought that you could use a Linen shirt as a substitute for Linen cloth?

I've only been able to get 2 from my hives so far but feel free to discredit it if you wish. I may let my surrounded hive linger a bit longer to be certain.

Unless there was a stealth update sometime during W6, I can specifically remember harvesting upwards of 5 wax from a single hive in W5, and the wiki is backing me up on that. However feel free to see if the cap has been changed, if you find something just drop me a message in Skype and we can see to it privately :)
