Do you suggest i use my bow or my sling and when do you recomend upgrading to a bow, and after that a rangers bow?

For now, stick to your sling (and try to get a higher quality one, it's capping your effective marksmanship down to 52 since of it's quality).

For when to swap over to a bow/ranger's bow is dependant on what the task at hand is. At 100 marksmanship with a quality 100 or so bow (obtainable via trade, check out Apples For Oranges for more), using bows to hunt becomes a viable option. Even then however, it's completely optional and most people seem to enjoy sticking with a sling instead.
When hunting, ranger's bows don't get used much as they need ~150-300 marksmanship with a Q70+ rbow to be worthwhile to use.

You should probably stick with slings for a while.

Yeah, I will stick with my sling a while longer, and then I'll try using a bow and see if i like it. I've almost got a village claim up so I can start trading soon and geting a higher quality sling.

Cattle and chickens food lowering the Q

Postby Cranny » Sun Jul 01, 2012 10:06 am

What would happen to my cattle if I start feeding them with much lower Q food than the one the where used to eat?. Newborns will be lower their Q?. Milk will keep Q if they do not get to pass hunger even food is lower Q?.

What would an experienced farmer do until he/she can get the previous Q into their fooders?, kill most of them and leave only the best to pass their atributes?. In the same situation, what to do with chickens?.

Thx in advance for your answers. ;)

I found this in the forums:
TeckXKnight wrote:Wall grade bricks means that quality doesn't matter and paying a newbie a handful of iron for 500 bricks is much less painful than making them yourself.

Does this mean that walls don't have quality? And there's no way of increasing a wall's durability (soak) other than building the strongest wall (currently brickwall)? Thanks in advance, and sorry if it's been asked before :)

low q food doesnt affect your cattle breeding quality, however having them eaten food whose quality is lower than its quality will result in lower quality outcome from butchering/skinning them. so you basically want to have them eat higher q food than their quality to have better q hide, meat and bones before you butcher them.
methods vary depending on how much time you can spend, i guess. some farmers can take care of so many and they just breed on, but id usually try to keep them small enough numbers to make it easier by killing all males except for best 2 and try to keep males away from already pregnant ones to avoid them re-breeding. as for chickens, check this out.

walls do not have quality and you cannot increase its durability at all.

I know the wiki suggests a sling quality of 25 and MMS of 50, but do you think I could take a deer out if I isolate him from the herd with a q26 sling and a MMS of 36?

No, you really couldn't. The big factor in those numbers is that the marksmanship is high and the sling isn't capping that. Even then, 50 marksmanship is the bare minimum for it being possible, and you should get it a lot higher before really attempting for this.

It's possible but you'd have to be lucky and get off consecutive shots. Even then I would not recommend it. It may be far easier to sling it topanic state and use the opportunity knock/ knockhis teeth out combo if your UA is good. Even better with MC and sword with sting.

I'm confused in regards to Barter Stands..the wiki says it works the same as any other containers in regards to theft, unclaimed you can just take things out.
Well, I have an unclaimed one nearby that's been decaying for awhile so I know noone frequents it. But I've tried taking the items out of the stand but nothing happens. I click 'em, right click 'em, the whole nine yards. Nothing.

Can anyone help? Perhaps I'm doing something wrong? I know for a fact it's on unclaimed ground becuase it's in my area and I've had it claimed before, but then I read that so I unclaimed it, and I still cannot take them. I nor any of my alts or anyone I know is the owner to this stand. There are still some items in it.
