according to the wiki cavein rocks make more caveins, and my friend zagged when she should have zigged, so how far away from those is a safe distance to mine(ore vein seems to be reasonable sized) so 10 spaces? 15?

Several screens, so probably ~51 tiles or so. Just destroy them like you would any other object to reduce the risk of further cave-ins.

Surprisingly, it's not on the wiki!! I think, but I haven't confirmed, that it's the same as rabbit fur: 8 hours. (If someone knows differently, post here, pm me, or edit the wiki.)

Whats an easy way to get string?

Get your exploration up a couple of points and gather Spindly Taproots and Stinging Nettles. There are other types of string, too, listed on the wiki: http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/String

Note that Stinging Nettles and Hide Straps cannot be used for fishing line.

I don't know for sure, as I've never tested it, but I believe so. The only exception being Thicket because Thicket seems to be its own thing.

the raw rabbits foot is same as the rabbit skin it does take 8 hours as well and i confirmed this by drying mine with a skin at same time
