Normal bow can't pierce armour, so it's useless for PvP. It's slower than sling, so it's no good for hunting. Basically, there is zero use for a woodbow and you should never even consider using one.

normal bow is good for hunters with 50+ mm just because 25 mm on a sling is pretty fast reload (not that i've gotten higher than 30)

I don't see how you people can even start to believe wooden bows are good for anything.

Like potjeh said useless in pvp. They are also useless in hunting, slings can 1 hit everything at full peaceful except for bears, aurochsen, and level 10 boars. I give it a month until the only thing they can't 1 hit are bear's.

You can get ammo for a sling anywhere, quality doesn't matter, and you don't have to worry about wasting your good resources. With a bow you lose your backpack and lose tons of slots.

Seriously there is no reason to ever touch a wooden bow unless your a larper to cheap to have rangers bow.
