this replaced grinding for food and equipment for lp gain with a need to grind for items specifically to get lp on top of whatever it was that you originally would do in w4 (food grind, equipment grind). this seems counter to the communist overtones in the w5 launch note, as everyone will now be producing less for their village because theyll be off running around looking for curiosities to benefit themselves.
curiosities add a tediousness to the game that actually motivates using bots. whats stopping someone from creating a bot that can make curiosities. ideally you would want a system that was harvesting curiosities so that, on your personal time so that you could do whatever and not have to worry about that stuff (perfect bot application). not that i used or intend to use bots, im just throwing up an argument against this new system.
No because you need to do a wider variety of things and you're not tossing stuff just for LP, it might be a viable route but only time wil tell when we actually get to the point of longer chains of things. A good example is let's say that making a steel sword produces some curiosity that's decent, so you spam steel swords? Those swords don't go in the trash. Since quality of curiosities matter you'll also want to make the highest Q of them you can, so you will be inclined to make higher quality trees (there's a rare stump curiosity), higher quality metals (assuming there is one), chip higher quality rocks (at least chippin rocks has a rare one or some shit).
Basically you'll want to do get the harder to get ones at as high of a quality as possible because yo want to max out your curiosity 'time'.
Since almost everything gives you curiosites it seems, or at least a very good amount of things do/will, this will mean doing almost anything will provide you with something and only the most hardcore players will have to worry about 'what's the best' and completing these long chains of items for a chance at a curiosity of high quality/caliber.
When and only when you reach the point that you're churning out your best at a constant that it's enough for all of your villagers, then you can start worrying about adding alts into the mix because your character can only gain that maximum amount of LP per day, so with that said since you can't do more to forward that single character, you want to start raising a second.
Early game atm is very demanding. Starting with 2 will drain you of energy very fast and make you want to quit, I suggest starting the second when it's easier and you have the basics down on the first at least.Krugz wrote:I'm already taking my own advice and splitting my gameplay between 2 characters. I run around on one for a bit, make cow cones whenever they break, and then switch.. back and forth... honestly it's very boring. We were all excited (my villagers and I), already I am the only one left.. everyone else got bored and went to bed. *shrugs* I'm waiting to get a boat and then I'll see how I feel about it..
